The behemoth of the Rising Sun

The largest aircraft carrier to float during the Second Great War, the sistership of the might Yamato class Battleships the IJN Shinano.
Until the launch of the USN's first Supercarrier the USS Forrestal in 1954 this ship was the largest and heaviest carrier in the world. Armour almost as heavy as the Yamatos she could even withstand fires from other battleships! Yet it was sunk by torpedoes of the USS Archerfish when headed for Kure for final fitting out.
