RN Nuclear NIGS Missile Ship Scheme 16

This was a new project based on the discussions here:
https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/rn-nuclear-nigs-ship.8253/

Like most navies in the Cold war era as well as in WW2 the Royal Navy too started designing a new ship class as soon as the current one ordered, in this case the County class Guided Missile Destroyers. The next warship was envisioned to carry the NIGS (New Naval Guided Weapons System) missile in twin launchers. A number of proposals were envisioned from the size of the Type 12 Frigates to an enlarged County class Destroyer hull with various propulsion schemes of full Steam Turbines, Combined Steam and Gas, Full Gas Turbines or even Nuclear, either pure Nuclear or Combined Nuclear and Steam. Displacemts too was varied with the smallest one being 4750tons while the largest 8500tons. The armaments were envisioned as: 4,5" 1-2 single or twin turrets, 1-2 twin NIGS launchers either horizontally or vertically loaded and GWS.21 Seacat Short Range SAM. The radar suite would also be new, the Type 985, the British equivalent of the USN's SPS-32/33 Phased radar arrays mounted on the USS Long Beach and USS Enterprise. Though these radars would be smaller then their USN counterparts.
From the discussions in the forums I've drawn this proposal which became a slightly enlarged County with 3 rather then two Seacat SAMs, and 2x1 40mm rather 20mm AA guns

The design had the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 170.69m (oa) x 18,29 x 5,67m
Displacement: 8500tons (standard)
Engines: 60.000shp, Westinghouse D1G or Rolls-Royce PWR1 Nuclear Reactors, 2 shafts
Range: Unlimited
Speed: Unknown probably around 59km/h (32knots)
Armaments:
2x2 NIGS SAM
3x4 GWS.21 Seacat SAM
2x1 40mm/56 QF Mk VIII AA Guns
2x Westland Wessex Helicopters
Sensors:
3x Type 903 Fire-control Radar, one for each MRS.3 director
1x Type 978 Surface Search / Navigation radar
4x Type 985 Tracking and Search radars
4x NIGS Illuminator Radars
1x Type 992 Air/Surface Search Radar
