The flying swallow

The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien or Tony fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. This fighter was a nasty surprise for the Allied especially the US pilots who at first thought it was a German or Italian craft. The Hien was faster more agile then contemporarly US fighters and less suspect to fuel fire then her predecessors. Armament was on the lighter side but still enough to do job and later it got upgraded on this field. They were well known for their silver white colours with a red arrow or the spotted forest like camouflage, but this one is shown in the standard green colour pattern which is not often used.
