While the previous designs was surely variants of the Lord Nelson class battleships, from now on the size and hull of the first Dreadnoughts were to be usen. The first design of the 1907 series was basically a Dreadnought (though I used the St. Vincent as a basis) with the 3rd turret (2nd centreline one) was replaced by 4 twin 10" cannons. The hull too was slightly longer (by 5 meters) then of those of HMS Dreadnought, and thus the displacement was slightly larger too still to mount 4 twin 10" instead of a twin 12" the armour had to be reduced from 12" belt to only 10". Even on this longer hull I had difficulties mounting the 24x 120mm tertiary guns without using main hull casemates!
The design had the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 155,45 (pp) 164 (wl) x 24,54 x 7,47m
Displacement: 19.000tons (standard)
Armour: unknown probably 38-42mm Deck, 254mm Belt
Engines: 23.500shp, steam turbines, 4 shafts
Speed: 39km/h (21knots)
Armaments:
4x2 12"/45 (305mm/45) Vickers Mk B Cannons,
4x2 10"/50 (254mm/50) Vickers Mk C Guns,
24x1 4,7"/50 (120mm/50) Vickers Mk A Guns,
4x1 457mm Underwater Torpedo Tubes
