The Comet Bomber

The Yokosuka D4Y Suisei / Judy dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force. This next generation dive bomber of the IJNAF was fast, long ranged, carried a potent armament and often able to escape from allied fighters due to her great speed, while the ships they attacked were often ended up on the ocean floor or heavily damaged. What hindered the use of this craft are the experienced pilots and self sealing fuel tanks. Due to their long range and high speed, they often used as reconnaissance aircraft and in the later stages of the war, Kamikaze planes.
